Puppies are exploring, enjoying and playing. They have a lot of toys, but their favorite one is the tunnel. Also they like to torn up the papers like small white shredders. What was that all about pottytraining? Anyway we love this white bunch to the bone and shall be sad when they leave for their new families, which will not be long!

Many has happened the last few days. Puppies needed more space and the inner room has been adapted to their needs. We were happy to welcome the future new families they shall be living with and thank you all. Also theginey went outside for the first time to explore at the start a bit reluctant but their mum was around and soon they gathered around her. They are moving forward fast in their development now!

These pictures were made on Easter Monday. With all the buzz at the moment we also take some time for each other and for our children and grandchildren. Which really greatly enjoyed the puppies and how special the bond can be between children and dogs!Vigo beaming completely and Aya was delighted also!

Tomorrow puppies will be 3 weeks old. We shall then relieve Zibah’s task who by the way is a great mum for her puppies. Puppies shall be fed extra with fresh meat and we are sure they shall like this. Next week they will notice even more what is happening around them and there is already interaction when we play with them. They come and climb on your lap! This is such a great time to experience and enjoy them.

Our grandchildren meet with the puppies the very first time. The kids totally loved it and under the watchful eye of their mother they could take the puppies on their lap and gently stroked them. They enjoyed it!

They are growing so fast now. Far beyond the kilo they all are. It won’t be long before they open their eyes and start exploring!

The pups are healthy and growing fast, but also with Zibah is doing much better. It has taken quite some time after her cesarean section to recover. Today was for her and for us a great day because it was very noticeable that she feels well now. She is very caring and gentle for her puppies but now she also relaxes herself dozing outside in the sun or keeping us company.

It was an exciting time here both for us and for Zibah.On Sunday March 26, we noticed some bleeding coming out of the vulva and immediately we informed our friends who would come to assist. A long night followed; would Zibah give birth to her puppies or not? But no, in the morning there was no change in her situation and so the next step was a visit to the vet. She examined her and diagnosed that there was no disclosure of the uterus yet. The loss of blood however could point out that a placenta got detached. Probably that puppy would be dead. We went home and another day went by.
However, in the evening at about 19:00 water broke and again everyone was present on time! We waited several hours but again no contractions or something of that nature to notice. During the night we had much consultation with the vet and it was finally decided to perform a caesarean section.
During the operation which took place in the morning around 08.30 p.m. it became clear that this was the best decision we could have made. Indeed one of the puppies had died. On his way out Which probably started Sunday, while moving towards the birth canal he passed it and went to the other uterine horn, thus blocking the way out for all the other puppies, a very sporadic thing. Fortunately operation went well and together with our girl Zibah we may enjoy a nice postpartum period with her beautiful puppies!

We hope to have family expansion in the spring of 2017. If things go as expected our Polish Tatra Sheepdog Hephzibah Domaine des Dhalbergs shall give birth around the end of March. The choice is based on three pillars, health, character and exterior. Both parents will be free of hipdisplasia meet up with the breeding regulations of the club. He is healthy with a fine and pleasant character, playful and open. We hope that their offspring unites the good qualities of both parents.
